Mathex

On the 22nd September we had our annual Mathex competition where 23 schools send their top maths team to compete in a problem solving competition.

There are four students in each group, and one of those students is the runner who retrieves the maths question from the panel, races back to the group and once the problem is solved, races back to the panel to check if they have it correct.   After half and hour the team with the most correct answers wins.

Congratulations to Sunnyhills who came second place.

Market Day at Sunnyhills

Wednesday 23 September we had our market day which was run by our senior school students.  Students had worked hard to create things to sell and learnt a lot about production processes, managing staff and profit and loss!!   Thanks to all the staff and children involved in helping make this a success.

Councillor Seminar Day
Our school Leaders all recently took part in a Leadership Seminar Day beginning with a working breakfast followed with guest speakers who shared with us their leadership journeys and roles.   Our thanks go to Sharnika Leleni, Dick Quax & Phil Larcombe for their inspirational thought and insights.

Escape Room
The School Leaders completed their Seminar Day with a visit to the Escape Room in Auckland City where they put their team work and problem solving skills to good use in their attempt to escape from their rooms in the fastest possible times.
